HOW WE CONDUCT A WASTE AUDIT

Gather Information

  • An effective waste reduction program is based on accurate information on the current composition and quantity of your waste stream. The first step, therefore, should be a waste audit.
  • This audit is a systematic procedure to review operations and waste generation. It will define the composition of your discards and examine how materials enter and leave your property.

The Walk-Through

  • Our audit team will make a note of all operations that produce waste and differentiate between the different kinds of waste being generated.
  • The walk-through will usually result in preliminary conclusions about reduction and recycling options. We make notes and refer to them throughout the entire audit process. That done, designate areas with easily identifiable titles, such as Receiving Area, Stock Room, Lounge, Cafeteria, Lounge, Lunchroom, and Kitchen, etc.

The Trash Sort

  • This exercise requires our team to sift through the waste. We collect samples of each day’s waste on and sort them to estimate the percentage each material comprises of your daily waste stream.

Material Quantification

  • Once we have completed the walk-through and identified the types and percentages of waste generated by way of a visual, hands-on inspection, the team has arrived at the final stage of the audit–quantifying the amount of each type of wastes.

Volume Matters

  • The amount of waste materials your company generates is important. Even if many items in the waste stream are recyclable, they must be present in sufficient volume to make separate collection a viable option. This applies especially to small companies that might have to cooperate with other businesses to generate adequate volume.

Let’s start moving material!

  • Once we have selected the best option for your business, we will begin hauling the material to designated location for either reuse or recycling

BENEFITS OF ZERO WASTE

Reduces Climate Impact

  • Problem:

An estimated 42% of all greenhouse gasses are emitted during production and use of goods.

  • Solution:

We incorporate a strategic reuse program within your company to cut costs and save you money while reducing your environmental footprint.

Reserves Natural Resources

  • Problem:

Extracting raw materials from natural spaces requires large amounts of energy and causes pollution

  • Solution:

Instead of recycling cardboard boxes, reusing is often the better option because of the low impact it has on the environment while still being a useful tool in your business processes.

We Focus On REUSE

Recycling Can Be COSTLY

At times, ends up defeating its own purpose. Reusing cardboard boxes saves on resources and continues the usability of materials that otherwise could end up as waste material.

Time and Engery

Reusing cardboard boxes saves time and energy that could be committed to other, dedicated tasks. It also reduces the need for paper, which in turn lessens the necessity for cutting down trees. Cardboard boxes can be reused multiple times before they are eventually recycled.
